Half a dream away
Half a dream away is not the space between the oceans,
just a miracle that dwells well deep inside the lonesome.
It's the place she calls home where she finds hope and deep devotion
but it lacks the love that shines the way and frees from sorrow.
It's the white lie that wraps around a veil of silence
when the truth is supposed to be above greed and anger.
Life is harder than she thinks when trust is far from lasting
that is why the feeling is always ready to take over.
Half a dream away are all the cheating implications
trying to fill in the blanks of a life full of tensions.
Taste for waste is time delusion like a useless ravage
that pollutes the past with the dirt of the present moment.
Pages turned around too fast as to read between the lines
made her the untrustful woman who believes in nothing.
Now she plays for keeps in the hope of tenderness around her
as she quotes to waft away the ghosts that obscured her skyline.
Half a dream away reflects the intentions barely came true
like traces of a childhood daydream in the making
or seasonal changes that disguise the everlasting
to recreate illusions to help make it through the day.
A one-way ticket to nowhere and the hope of being there
a lamb falling into the clutches of unconsciousness
or the scapegoat in the sacrificial altar
it all depends on the eye of the beholder.
