The Gift of Heavenly Light
A Divine Essence.
From some ethereal place.
Breathed: “Let there be light!”
And there was heavenly light.
Brought from above to the earth.
And this divine light.
So divinely created.
Brought hope to mankind.
For him to know right from wrong.
A promise he tries to keep.
This light from heaven.
Is given as a token.
To be shared by all.
Not ever to be abused.
To bring peace to all people.
The light from above.
Brought to enlighten the world.
Is a light of love.
But we must use it wisely.
Or else we may all perish.
About this poem
The theme of light and of love, or of love and of light, is received by us, consciously or unconsciously, as if it were a prayer, petitioning mankind to strive for the highest ethical standards of human behavior towards one another, towards all things that inhabit the earth, and towards the earth itself.
