Sleep

Walt Sisikin 1953 (Santiago)

Sleep
Once upon a time
As I tried to write this rhyme
Nothing came of it
Because it was late
My head was muddled and was not for it
To expand such energy in the evening at such rate
It’s best to close your eyes and get some sleep
So that in the morning you may reap
The new energy you have acquired
To think, write and in complexity be mired
Oh! To sleep
Oh! To dream
To refresh oneself and rhyme again

About this poem

How many times we try to sleep to regain energy.
