My Distraction

Take root, my mind.
And gaze at the crooks of a great tree’s branches.
Forgotten what brought me here.
A passage of time, simply an in-between.
No distractions but this one.
And yet, I can’t help but wonder if,
These observations are shared by anyone else.
Or if you’ve held another gaze like mine.
Now I wish I had not lost my focus on you.
As it seems the clock strikes 3.
It will be far too soon.
Before I forget you, my distraction.
