Love Upon A Time
Broken i am, broken i feel, My heart is broken, it needs to heal.
Who will come to and take away, The pain that's left behind
Who will come to save me now, To help my heart unwind.
I took a chance and asked you out, I felt i could not fail.
But then i came to realize, Love is a fairy tale.
Once upon a time you see, All was good with you and me.
We had enough love, to last forever.
But we weren't meant to be together.
I was drawn in by you're voice, your expressions and your quips
your hypnotizing gaze, and the quiver of your lips.
The way you looked at me, made me feel alive,
but you shared that look with someone else, there was another guy.
I did my best to prove my worth, I gave you everything,
but you picked the lesser man, just because he was not me.
A year went by, It took that long; to get back on my feet,
I mourned for you that long, Then i heard a ring.
You called on me again, I gave you another start,
after all, i had no choice, you still held my heart.
I jumped through every hoop, I committed to a ring,
I gave you my whole heart again, i gave you everything.
I should have seen this coming, the plot twist at the end,
History repeating itself, you've hurt me once again.
I may have been blinded, Some might say oblivious.
But the stories dont include the pain, That comes with true loves kiss,
I enjoyed the time we spent, And all the feelings shared
It was nice to hold you, And know that some one cared
But breaking up was no mistake,
It helped me see the truth.
It's not that my love was not enough,
Nothing's good enough for you.
The years went by, and now i know,
That my love did not fail.
My love for you was real,
Yours was The Fairy Tale.
