Covideo Games
It started with an outbreak
A few people here and there
It soon grew to thousands
A sickness out of thin air
We all felt the panic
We all watched the news
We all looked for answers
We all searched for clues
Don’t touch metal
Don’t touch the mail
Don’t go shopping
Or else you will fail
Be sure to wash hands
Be sure to wear masks
Stay six feet apart
Follow these basic tasks
We all stayed home
We all were ill advised
Zoom your life away
Keeping hands sanitized
Then came the nonsense
People started recording
Essentials were scarce
People started hoarding
Then came more nonsense
Politics divided us apart
We were supposed to be one
But the media cut out our heart
The world lit in blazes
The world fought in rages
A generation in malaises
It felt like the dark ages
Then a bright spot in the sky
A vaccine to save the day
A thought we might not die
Approved without delay
Millions of cases detected
Millions of voices objected
Millions of doses injected
Millions of lives subjected
We got the initial dose
Then we got the follow up dose
Nearly all got sick from it
So we had to get a booster dose
All the while it seemed
The people in power kept forcing
For everyone to be vaccinated
Even though the virus kept coursing
Then came a new term
We thought would never hear
Breakaway cases were real
A reality we now had to fear
The pandemic will last longer
Longer than was expected
Regardless if protected
New variants were detected
We’re told to not complain
We’re told to fight the variant
We’re told to mask up again
We’re told to be vigilant
Where is the common sense?
Why is there selective memory?
15 days the stop the spread?
Our clueless leaders in reverie
Even if you are vaccinated
You can still get sick and spread
But leaders still force the mandate
Better to be sick than dead
If you’re unvaccinated
Be sure to hide and fear
The self righteous tyrants
Look for those to smear
This pandemic got truly ugly
Revealing the true monsters
Do not blame the virus itself
Instead blame the fear mongers
The media keeps on crying
The politicians keep on lying
The doctors keep denying
As the world keeps on dying
About this poem
I’m tired of this pandemic, the constant push by the government, the raging media, the experts always wrong… it’s exhausting.
