Mommas Pain.

Mommas pain
Its too heavy for her, she can no longer carry it

Mommas pain
She shares it, but she spreads it

Mommas pain
An invisible birthmark each generation has, no known origin

Mommas pain
She heals herself hurting me
Her momma healed herself hurting her

Mommas pain
Its mine now, heavy in my chest
Will the hardening help or make it worse?

Mommas pain
An ocean of uncried tears
A world of unspoken trespasses
A galaxy of misguidance
A universe of taught self hatred

Mommas pain
I am the Momma now.
How the hell did they keep passing this to the next?  How was it so easy for them to do so?

Mommas pain
I am quick with the band aids for boos boos
I am quiet to listen to feelings
Arms are opened to embrace the tears flowing freely

Mommas pain
Stays with me, I can't.. I won't share it
May I be the last to feel this weight

Mommas pain
Fade.  Fade and may the darkness succumb to the light

Mommas pain
Free me.  Free.  Me.  Free me to protect my babies from this curse.
