A dark sky looms
overhead

I feel it approaching
at an ever-quickening pace

My bones ache
but not of age

of being seen

I feel hate
and I let it consume me

asians
whites
jews
mothers
fathers
brothers
sisters
best friends
worst enemies
saints
sinners
ceos
interns
young couples on a bright sunday evening
old ones sharing a moment on the porch
those swallowed by their own success
and those in the pit of poverty
but for me

helpless
worthless
loveless
jobless
hopeless
passionless
hobbyless
friendless
weightless
but so heavy.
