wondering

wondering watching waiting in silence
dreaming the dreams of days gone by
thinking the thoughts of tremulous balance
wishing the wishes to live to or to die

pretending and planning for things out of reach
reaching for rainbows and rivers of gold
bringing to others my dreams, on the beach
and searching for sunsets I know I can't hold

wondering why the winter has flown
living for love that no longer does live
walking away in the wind that has blown
grasping and giving what's left to give
