WILL

Jan Didawick 1959 (West Virginia)

"Will"
Will there ever be a time when we won't back away
when our bodies touch ever so slightly?
Will there ever be a time when our eyes meet,
that we won't see the other in the eyes of each other?
More importantly, will, there ever be a time
when the feelings will be completely revealed?
If not...why not?  If so.. Why don't we?
Could it be that the truth doesn't need to be spoken
because everything we are, just is.. and that is all?
Will there ever be a time that we both will be free
from the agony of knowing"We" have always been,
 and "we" always will be,
but we can't; so we "don't"?
Will there ever be a time when we won't back away
when our eyes draw us near like a magnet
and our hearts feel the same but our fears get in the way..
and we close our eyes for only a second
before walking in opposite directions?
Will there ever be a time?
Perhaps it already occurred, and we are just realizing it.
After all, "We" still are here, are we not?"
Then again,
Perhaps, we just never knew it,
