Cherished Thoughts of Jessica

You must remember this:
The bliss,
The little child you loved to kiss,
The baby born to soothe
your heart.
From whom you thought you’d
never part.
While pain is fresh, your eyes
will weep.
Yet this, the memory you
must keep.
That this small child that you
well knew,
managed to grow and live
with you,
to forge friendships with old
and new,
to have a smile for all
she met,
a loving friend to every
pet.
God blessed her with a
special gift.
She came to earth our hearts
to lift.
While some may question
Jessie’s plight,
God made this child to be
just right.
He fashioned her to live
a life,
full of wonder, without
strife.
And so she grew to serve
the Lord.
We praise her life with one
accord.
Lifted up, she dwells
on high.
Though far away, she’s still
quite nigh.
Lord, grant her peace, eternal
rest.
We thank you, Lord, our lives
you’ve blessed.
And while we mourn, still you
we praise,
with love sublime, to give us
Grace.
