Here

Tika Hales 1973 (Ft Lauderdale, Florida)

Here I am where I've been before
Passing out on my bathroom floor
Wondering do I give up the fight
Do I even have the right
Here I am another week
So screwed up that I can't sleep
Anxiety has me shaking
What was that I had taken
Here I am another day
Will this obsession go away
I wonder when I'll be done
This party already lost its fun
But here I am out for more
My body aching my feet are sore
I know that I don't want this life
But I'm too damn scared to grab the knife
Here I am getting clean again
Somewhere inside I know I can
I once again get some time
Was I ambushed by that line
Here I am on the floor once more
Didn't I do this enough before
I know I have to do something new
But I don't know what I should do
Here I am as I start to lie
You know I really like this high
Creeping up, I let me down
Am I going to let me drown
Here I am standing on my feet
This is a demon I have to beat
But I can't do it on my own
Never should have tried to do it alone
Here I am with a couple days
Hoping that I pass this stage
If I can just make for a year
Maybe I'll start thinking clear
Here I am sitting in group
Maybe I'll have time to recoup
All these people talking about a spirit
Once again I don't hear it
Here I am living in doubt
What is this God thing all about
I can do this one last time
Not alot I'll just get a dime
Here I am on the psycho ward
Another failure I couldn't afford
This time I must be open to believe
I know I'll die if I don't succeed.
