Moonlight

I could see the pain that you hide behind the mask
I could see the tears that you want to let escape
I could feel the hurt in your words, the pain you wish would go away
The night you died you took a piece of me with you
I haven’t been the same since the day the demons won
I started off by counting the seconds, that quickly turned
Into hours, which lead to months now we are getting to Years.
Every night I look up to the moon it’s when I feel
Closest to you, like you were still here standing beside me
Everything is different, nothing feels quite right without
You here, all I have left now are memories of a better time I tried to be strong and keep my head up for those around me
I have no one to see the pain I hide behind the mask I have no one to see the tears I want to let escape
I have no one to feel the hurt in my words, the pain I wish would go away
But I swear that is the piece you took of me
With you the night that the demons won
So here I’ll stand looking up at the moon.
