Getting Even:

The best thing for me to do.
Is to get over you.
I will make my life important.
And make your memory non-existent.
Keep love in my heart.
While watching your world fall apart.
Taking all the pieces you left behind.
Picking them up and giving them to that special someone I will find.
You left nothing but a path of damage.
I have learned how to manage.
You left me feeling so much pain.
I will never have to feel it again.
My life is getting better in every way.
I find more reasons to smile every day.
I feel sorry for the way you are.
I have found a way to remove your scar.
While you keep sinking further down.
I continue moving up to higher ground.
Making my life better is how I will win.
In the end it's the best way of getting even.

About this poem

This is my thoughts on moving on from a bad relationship or friendship. It's not about hurting someone or damaging things. The best way to get even with someone is to move forward and live your life and do better than anyone would expect you to do.
