SORROW

Debra K Middaugh 1963 (San Diego, CA.)

No one is afraid of heights it's all about the fall,
You can appear larger than large even if your small.

We don't fear the game we play,
It's the thought of losing that gets in the way.

No one is scared of the dark it's what lies beyond what you can't see,
Emotions of betrayal and regret swallow me.

Bruised broken confused things are not clear,
Not sure of where I came from or how I got here.

I get up each day and go thru the routine,
Shower brush teeth I still feel un-clean.

I sit here alone drowning in this sorrow,
I go thru each day with no hope of tomorrow.

About this poem

Dealing with the pain and agony of a love that has burned out. I was in fetal position on the floor crying for days. It hurt to take a deep breath.
