On the verge

I can’t breathe, my lungs feel like a balloon going to burst;
Tightened chest, clenched jaw, sweaty palms.
Stuck in this cage called a body,
My mind goes blank as I rummage for answers.
The pounding beat in my head goes on and on,
Will I make it?
