Pollution

Skye Hall 2006 (Gettysburg)

The toxicity of things so bad pouring down my throat is preventing me from breathing so I stagger it. Although saving it for the right moments isn’t working, I still try.

Throwing myself into horrible situations binds me like plastic rings bind my hands together. Lies and insults suffocate me like a bag wrapped around my head would.

People made of plastic and tar flood within the school walls and test the atmosphere of earth, just as plastic and toxins do to the world.

Changes made slowly may help, just not fast enough...but as of now the little pockets of air where I can breathe are enough to keep me going.

About this poem

This can relate to pollution in general but it has a much deeper meaning.
