Jagged Peaks
Jagged Peaks
My heart sometimes stays as a will
In the deep dark night so still
To the string of emotions on call
Hanging on by a thread I cling
With the voice of Screech, I sing
The melodies frozen in my throat
And thoughts in my head my only hope
My hope growing out of the icicles
Borne in books fermented on
Ancient texts of scripture scribbled
Out of a dream floating on a cloud
Brought to me by cherubim in
chubby sneakers with wings
Followed by chariots on horseback
In a cascade of snow flurries falling
On a street dotted by gingerbread men
I look forward to snowy path ahead
To the frozen tipped mountains ahead
So jagged and so cold
