Chained

Chantell Paul 1994 (Baltimore)

Submerged below a heavy heart lies a force of unexplained power

A depth of reality that divides a thought from intent

Tangled up in fears and acceptance

Drowning from desires that suffocate the vision

Unable to escape the dark waters that comfort you in silence

Floating from a surface of illusions

The weight of confusion that hardens your last breath

About this poem

The poem is a internal depiction of drowning in comparison to the overwhelming events in life.
