Heaven Distracts

Heaven awaits, yet here I am. What am I to do with this pain, then?

They are that which keeps me from my rest. They are the other, of which I am not.

Describe love to me, my brother. Tell me, my sister, who is my neighbor? Our love is not for them. They cannot see the love robed in hatred. They are blinded.

Wake up o sleepers! Heaven distracts. Heap burning coals on their heads, beloved! Suffer no longer the bonds of tribe. Hate your mother, hate your father.

For love awaits, and in love is heaven.

About this poem

We all feel tribal. It's a natural state of being. What defines tribe? Can we select the criterion or criteria on which we can base our tribe? I argue that we can, and should. Love is the thing.
