My Peaceful Getaway

Poised at the threshold of each day
I take my place, I know to do
On my knees all my cares I lay.
Communion with you, Lord, I indeed pursue,
It fills me with a vibrant hope I certainly conclude
And it fuels my growth and gratitude.
Our time oozes a quiet, tranquil scene for me
Shutting out the rest of mankind briefly,
And exposing peace of mind
As the influence of walls confined
Fling a feeling of calm, evicting the clamor
And threading itself through the white exterior.
My heart unfolds like a flower
Opening up to the radiant light of your presence,
Lord, I think, what if all at once
These walls could talk, what would they say?
They would tell of all the things I pray.

About this poem

I find extreme peace and comfort when I get alone with the Lord, just Him and me.
