Dad

I feel the safest, in the arms that first held me,
With the person who protected me in my years wee.
I feel the most loved, with the man who can't see me cry for even a while,
with the person, who will do anything to see me smile.

He is the one who teases me day and night,
In darkness, he is the one who provides light.
I can't stay angry with him for long,
For me, whatever he says is never wrong.

He has spent on me all his affection,
I want to thank him on this day of elation.
His love is pure, his jokes are bad,
The sweetest person on earth is my dad.
