O' Children Of The Night
jody l cooke 2021 (north carolina)
O' Children of the night
Whose deep dark souls
Try to reach for the light.
Come with me my children
And listen to the call of the
Wild. With cries and whispers
Upon this night of wicked
Desires and pleasures, as
We dance beneath the fire.
Come and be naked with
Me and I will set your soul
Free. Come let the moon cast
Its spell upon me so we may
See to plant our seeds.
Wanting to get close while
Missing the people we loved
The most. With tears that fill
Our eyes wondering when we
Are going to die.
Then a gentle thought whispers
Through the leaves, as we lay
Naked beneath the tree trying
To open the windows of our
Minds.
As we try to unlock doors
Through all space and time
Our bodies together as one.
As we taste each others wine.
O' Children of the night
Whose deep dark souls
Try to reach for the light.
