worship.

my relationship with god
was never really there
i think it’s just the voices
they whispered in my ears
pretty melodies of light

then came you
shiny and gleaming
you came in my favorite shade
of emerald kisses

suddenly i didn’t need
a jesus or holy spirit
just your hand in mine
but that, i never held
only the emptiness

passed from your heart
straight to mine
and i couldn’t even leave
could not enjoy the night

because all that was left
of your moonlight soul
was the hole in my heart
the stars didn’t gleam again
quite like your eyes ever did
