One Kiss

joseph mcqueen 1953 (Illinois)

One kiss, awakening
Feelings no longer to be hidden
Warmth starts deep in the center
Love that was meant to be given

One kiss, illumination
A light that comes from within
 Vision pierces the blackness
A darkness that will not come again

One kiss, anticipation
Life is more than a scripted play
The joy of new dawn awaits
 Excitement of an unknown day

One Kiss, Tranquility
 Serenity supplants a restless soul
 Hearts in synchronization
 Spirits at last become whole

One Kiss, Revelation
Love is now what it always should be
The essence of two is now one
Us has replaced the singular me

One Kiss, Realization
 A paradise of spiritual bliss
I have found a place in your arms
My life began with One Kiss
