The Circus And The Zoo

An evening at the circus, a day at the zoo
I always found laughter and fun things to do
Took my child for the first time to these
Wanted him to build sweet memories
This time, maybe was my one last
It made me see my life very fast
Read, think, don’t dismiss
You too fit somewhere in this

At the circus all thru the acts
My child was filled with laughter and claps
I wondered what all he was feeling
My joy was but gone that evening
The colorful clowns were smiling at me
Showing me a reflection of myself to see
Their faces painted with a smile and tear
A front, hiding their miseries and fears

Next at the zoo, my child ran from cage to cage
Making funny noises keeping himself engaged
I looked at some creatures, stared deep into their eyes
Some glared back at me with elegance and pride
Some mocked at me as if I was the one in a cage
I too was trapped in this humane jungles backstage
Just different animal instincts I have enacted
Preys we all are, but the weaker gets extracted

Mahesh Wadhwani

I always apologize for the length of my text as that’s the best way for me to communicate rather than verbally!! Not a man of many words but still manage to doodle when in mood to write, which is rare!! I am not even sure if what I scribble is poetry or even what form or just words that rhyme!! To me writing is an art, a sign of creativity and a means of expression. I don't really think that anyone can just write without any feelings, without having felt, without having lived, experienced or cherished. Whatever one writes, there is some amount of a persons own feelings and presence or of those around them, indicated in the works. So I am thankful to all the people in my life and those yet to come for having given me life, love, happiness and even pain. At-least I have had the opportunity to feel it , live it and express it, whatever it maybe. Cheers! more…
