Shadow
Erick Arvizu 1980 (Williamsburg, VA)
Shadow
The sunlight bathes you
Cleansing with its living light
Your long legs and smile shine
Leaving a preview of the night
A sexy silhouette lingers
Mesmerizingly swaying
Your dancing shadow enthralls
I’m yearning to be your plaything
Looking to your glowing eyes
The Caribbean comes to mind
Your golden locks pure brilliance
In my dreams you’re all I’d find
Pink rose petals so soft
Fragrant as a morning meadow
Your lips call for a kiss
The way Pan needs his shadow
I reach to pull you in
I’ve got to let you know
But my arms are empty
Just grasping at a shadow
About this poem
You can get lost in your heart and mind wanting something so badly.
