Granny

Live Dibela 2004 (East London)

Your voice is not one of comfort
you not one to really speak
of sweet things to me

No, you are not soft like the others,
You're a powerful woman
whose voice has lost
It's honey touch,
Whose mind no longer
Sugar coats the truth
No matter how painful it may be

You are a realist
In ways, I can't
bring myself to understand

You wanted us to reach our dreams
But when we failed
Your words could never comfort us
But your heart no matter
how powerful you had to make yourself
Will forever be the softest place,
My heaven on earth
The love you have shown to us
has told me things that your
words could never express
And for that I love you
Granny...
