SAD DOG STORY

SAD DOG STORY

Have you heard of this sad story?
It’s actually not a story
rather a true tale
but you will be really sorry.
It’s a sad tale I heard on the news
of a Chihuahua bought by a miss.

She got it from an ad in the papers
of a beautiful one in wrappers.
She couldn’t resist the jolly creature,
nothing she could imagine better,
it was like a living toy treasure.

It took no time to bond with the lassy.
She was beautiful and classy,
teensy size with big round eyes,
of a champagne hue or candyfloss,
when you cuddle her, feels like mushmellows,
a tiny,  yet a fearless Chihuahua,
Coochi coo coo la la.

Before blinking their eyes
the two bonded their ties
became inseparable,
together everywhere.

Who knew that a tragedy was in brew,
the tiny one was in fact one stolen
some  one had previously owned
the new owner could not have known.

This was in the rollercoaster days
of Covid lockdown craze,
social distancing , hand washing,
face masks and navel gazing.
Population at mass in isolation,
many facing desolation,
most were in deep exasperation.

People feeling lonely
seeking faces friendly.
Amidst this , pets became desirable
a notion one would think admirable.

Our missy got her little lassy
not knowing she was part of a conspiracy.
The pet was kidnapped out of nowhere
for her actual owner it was a nightmare.

In time the little doggy
needed to attend veterinary
it was thankfully nothing serious
but the vet visit proved precipitous.

The chihuahua, unknown to our missy,
had been microchipped already
by her mistress previously.
This was a shock out of the blue
to all and sundry.

To the joy of the previous owner
the dog was united finally to her
but the tragedy was that our missy
was now bereft for ever
having lost her beloved Chihuahua.
This is the sad but true story I have narrated here.
