To my babies

When it seems that all is lost remember what it was
  
That made you hope for something else and even stop to pause
  
The things in life that broke you will not defeat you long
  
Just close your eyes and think of me and hear your favorite song
  
Songs that mommy sang to you as you laid without a peep
  
The stories that I told you as you drifted off to sleep
  
The books we read at bedtime each and every night
  
The little things I did for you like leaving on the light
  
And though I may be gone now in you my lessons live
  
So do these things in honor of me and never hesitate to give
  
Just a little piece of yourself but not so you are drained
  
Don’t forget the times you danced soon after it had rained
  
For every drop that touches down and rolls across your face
  
Is just your angel mommy back to visit you from grace.
