INTRODUCE MY BEST MATE

 I introduce folks, to my best mate who occupies within,
I was ashamed to share him, thought I possessed in sin
Townsfolk’s said I was crazy, what I do ain’t exactly right
Say I’ve lost my marbles, you see he visits every night
Doc says calls my inner child that ole voice I used to hide
Out of mind, out of sight, my secret, I would not confide.
My ole mate is always about; I speak with him every day
When I’m lonely with no one about he has plenty to say.
Knows well all my secrets, he’s there when I hurt in pain,
Comforts me through rough times shares again & again
When others more can stand me, he's back for more
I introduce my best mate; I guarantee this guy for sure.
I know he’s not God nor Jesus, he ain’t related to the devil
Indeed He’s my best mate reliable always on the level.
Great is he that’s with me he doesn’t dwell with those.
A friendly newcomer, I must trust someone I suppose.
A ghost maybe an angel, but within, he made his home,
He is my guardian and protector, I am never ever alone.
I tell him about those bad times, ones that make me cry
Misery I dare tell no one, he never questions me to why!
He’s the only one who listens, the only friend who cares
Never restricts or limits, time he unconditionally spares,
When every one has had enough he comes back for more
I introduce my best mate; I guarantee this guy for sure.
