The closer I get, my heart pounds
The closer I get, my pace slows
The closer I get, the ear ring sounds
The closer I get, my breathing shallows

The closer I get, my breath quickens
The closer I get, my dizziness consumes
The closer I get, my spirit dims
The closer I get, anxiety looms

The closer I get, the front porch in view
The closer I get, my home, prison, my shu
