Christmas

Justine Martindale 1986 (Virginia)

Mama puts up the mistletoe
Uncle Jay plays on the guitar
Presents placed under the tree below
As I finish with the star
Sitting by the fire
I write down on my list
The things that I desire
The things I want for Christmas
Every night before I read a book
Every night on Christmas Eve
By the window I take a look
Wondering what Santa will bring me.
