The Hurting Within

Each day I awake with many a hurt
Warnings from within create an alert
Emotions from my past always burns
The ache that never comes to terms

The Hurting Within is strongly set
With an uneasy feeling of pain, I try to forget
Living my life as a lie I fail
Within this house is a pain from hell

Alone in my darkness you will not find
Because it is all locked up in my mind
The words I write is my only salvation and hope
To express my emotions and help me cope

So much in my mind must be left unsaid
Its sometimes better to keep it stored inside my head
Real happiness, like love are always hard to find
So many fail to see the signs

To end it all has been a thought
From the Hurting Within is battle to be fought
I cannot continue now to express these words that I write
The tears keep smudging the ink... it is not a pretty sight

I will go now and try to hide
And hold on to a little of what is left of my pride
And oneday soon it will soon pass
And I will live my life much better at last

I have always used poetry as a way to reflect back on moments, memories, emotions throughout my life, and accounts of all sorts of events in my life. From when I was feeling Alone, Happy and Feeling down and needed to express myself and like my love of music, it reminds me of what I was doing at a particular time in my life. more…
