Our Wish
Harold James Hagen 1936 (Alberta) – 2019 (Prince George)
I do not wish for worldly pleasures,
They are but for the day.
But I want the joy of salvation,
And for this alone I pray.
I do not wish for earthly wealth,
Which soon will fade away.
I long for the treasures of heaven,
And for this I now do pray.
I do not wish for the honor,
The glory and the praise of men.
I'd rather have the glories of heaven,
The crown and the diadem.
I wish for peace upon this earth,
The peace that God alone can give.
When nations rise in war no more,
But all for Christ shall live.
I wish that you might know the lord,
Who birth we celebrate.
That you may find in him,
Your peace, your hope, your joy, your faith.
