Pillows

Hyenas always make me laugh
They'd rather I not make them beg
Excuses, three for a quarter
Can you spare an arm and a leg?

It's a hard life out here scuffling
Through rain and sleet, wind, and mud
With the rising cost of prophylactics
Couldja throw in a quart of blood?

Heroic rescues are pillows
Where I rest my ego at night
I leave a note by the coffee pot
"Remember to feed the parasite"

These poor dear sharks are endangered
Am I the only one who sees?
A pound of flesh, maybe a child
Is any sacrifice too steep?

Nobody seems to understand
It's harmless, that razor white grin
They can sense blood in the water
Excuses, three for a fin

Heroic rescues are pillows
Where I rest my ego at night
I leave a note by the coffee pot
"Remember to feed the parasite"

Everyone says he's ferocious
None understand him like I do
They just want a set of baggage
A hat, or a fine pair of shoes

But my heart just melts for my crocodile
Weathered leathery by the years
So I keep a fluffy beach towel handy
To wipe away all of his tears
The poor dear

Heroic rescues are pillows
Where I rest my ego at night
I leave a note by the coffee pot
"Remember to feed the parasite"
