Call Us A Tune

Matilda's in the powder room
Preparing for the manic waltz
If you wanna swing with her tonight
Better bring along some smelling salts

It's Invitation Only
Her name's on that exclusive list
She's gonna party in the locker
With forensic scientists

Rubber hose exposes veins
A tourniquet for psychic pain
It's just a happy ending with a twist

Come dance with me
Dance with me
Call us a tune
Bloody Mary
Quite contrary
Behold the crimson moon

Esmeralda's spinning lightly
Just outside the fortress wall
Captivating Quasimodo
Capturing us all

The road's an open prison
The trade-off's being free
There's sanctuary in the bell tower
The trade-off is, you sleep with me

Got a Master's from bell-ringer school
Yet they call me King of Fools
Oh, why was I not made of stone like thee?

Come dance with me
Dance with me
Call us a tune
Bloody Mary
Quite contrary
Behold the crimson moon

Sugar Plum Fairy's all a-twitter
Slippers and tutu firmly in place
Makeup man supplies the mask
Devotedly applies the face

She'll jerk you 'round the ballroom
If you give her half a chance
Sugar Plum Fairy, belle of the ball
Tonight at the St. Vitus dance

Twinkle twinkle little toes
How I wonder why she goes
Self-inflicted victim's circumstance

Come dance with me
Dance with me
Call us a tune
Bloody Mary
Quite contrary
Behold the crimson moon
