Crystalline constellations

They sparkle and dazzle
With their luminous brilliance
They confuse and befuddle
With their numberless horde
Are they the gems of the heavens?
Royal treasury of the gods
Are they the jeweled crown?
Of the universal God of all?

They come in diverse shapes
As unique as the worlds therein
There are circles and ellipses
And our very own spiral
Who molded them this way?
And created an ethereal collage
Whence will they untangle?
And splash their gems ashower

They are crystal heavenly pebbles
Crafted in brilliant glass
They sparkle in immortal glow
Iridescent embers of the universe
If they were a goblet tall
Would it hold an Elven wine?
And if a laboratory beaker
Would aliens be cultured in it?
