If and when

Francisco Salgado 1974 (Yakima)

If and when you say goodbye you can expect to see me cry
These tears you see will be of hurt from someone who loves you and you desert
And you know that if I had my way I’d do whatever for you to stay
But I don’t and this I know so it’s best to let you go
As you go this I will say I’m not a game that you can play
And in the future when you’re free at last you’ll remember me in your past
You’ll remember of all the love I had to give and wonder then if I forgive
Don’t wonder long and don’t you fret I do forgive but I don’t forget
