Analysis of Of January

Jelly P. Brown 2006 (Michigan)

It's January,
The month of beginnings.
Maybe this year, I can
Stop losing and start winning.

January, my
Month of mistakes,
Is when I start being real
And stop being fake.

This year, as the world
Slowly but surely turns,
I shall see how many
Lessons I can learn.

I haven't read Proverbs,
But I have read Psalms,
Keeping God's Holy Bible
In my lap and palms.

Every chapter, every day,
Has become a new lesson.
The only good way is God's way,
And that's my only impression.

Jelly P. Brown

Hello! My name is Jelly. I am a teenage girl who likes to write poetry, music, lyrical songs, and I even like to write stories. Paper could possibly be my best friend as I love to make paper dolls and they are very precious to me. Most of my time is spent with God, my friends and family, and my fellow poets. Also, I am a kind, pretty, and honest person who loves most she comes in contact with. I like cats for pets and friends, McDonald's fast food for every meal possible, and loving, respectful people for even more friends. Those are the basics of Jelly Brown. more…
