Analysis of I once had a friend
François Giroux 1982 (Canada)
I once had a friend
She was always there
With her sky blue eyes
And her soft brown hair
I once had a friend
With whom I shared dreams
She made me laugh
She made me smile
I once had a friend
Who made me feel strong
With her stoic little heart
That accepted my wrongs
I once had a friend
She is no longer there
It has broken my heart
And tarnished my smile
I once had a friend
I loved all along
