Analysis of Of life and light
Mark Cloutier 1972 (Kaneohe)
Life leads us
To a truth that transcends
This world and its end
A truth which is endless
Of life and light
With words and knowledge
That appear and disappear
Only to remain untouched
By thousands that hate
Its message of peace
Within a world
Of turmoil and passion
Of light and life
Never surpassing the night
But awakening the sun
As the moon follows
Us through the day
As the stars take stage
In the darkness of space
Only to be hated
Of the day that raged
Into the night
