Analysis of When First I Met You
Evans E Bradley 1949 (Washington, DC)
When I first met you my life was full of grief,
You brought joy into my heart that felt like a relief,
As I got to know you better my heart grew ever founder,
That's when I realized I loved you and began to wonder,
I know my present situation is not the best for you,
And with that in mind, I just don't know what to do,
But Helen, sweet Helen you are on my mind each day,
I wish that I could make a wish and have you all the way,
Please don't think wrong of me for feeling like I do,
It's because I have grown to respect and love you,
Please don't be a concern if you don't feel the way I do,
I knew the problem was mine alone since first I met YOU!
