Analysis of Of colors and light

Mark Cloutier 1972 (Kaneohe)

The colors fill the mind
As the light is void
Of darkness in the world
As one comes down
And lights the minds
As the colors fill the earth
Like days that came
At once and then pass
Into a future heard
And a past that was seen
As it was, green
And a future blue
Like a sky that falls
As the sun shall rise
And stars shine
As the colors fill the light
And then we pass
Through the night
As rain in the night sky
And the moon covers us
With sleep so deep
And we awaken to a light
In the night before
We open our eyes
Of colors and light
