Analysis of Vae Victis

Nothing so expressive an act of man
Is as blatantly stupid like it is,
That it is--on your face...
Suppressed somehow by its acceptance
As "normal" in the whole planet.
Marked for death, it exists dying
To come to light and--by federal mandate
Recognized for what it truly is--
The most lethal way man has ever devised
Against himself that (as a matter of fact)
Has millions reduced to starkly vain ashes.
There is a warning, so scary (the reason
Why I can't make myself pick and--light
Up a stick), it is--by design made
Plain and simple, yet shockingly still
Ignored--in the name of relish? Or
Did someone really, really say--in the name
Of growing up? To its victims (they
Really are slaves), the "vanquished,"
Is the war lost even before it is waged?
A serving of "cold turkey" is on the table.
