Analysis of The Old Lunch Wagon
Subject: The Old Lunch Wagon - Remembering my Mother as she use to use an Old white car to bring us food and it was so long in the front end we would eat off of it there in the fields.
The Old Lunch Wagon
by Fred M. Lassonde
Years ago now as a younger man
toiling in the field doing what I can
tending the soil was the main toil
breakdowns and weather could foil
all endeavors to get the crop in
a crop unseeded was terribly akin
to being without money to pay your bills
the thought of this left us no thrills
so work hard and long thats what we did
Planting was tough but we did not kid
Harvest was next after the crop grew
equally hard work and so much to do
Seeding and Harvest a Season complete
All this so many people could eat!
But eat we workers also needed to do
and so heartily and in a hurry we ate too
The old lunch wagon would come around
with Cook, water and grub it did abound
I see now we were like that lunch wagon in a way
for we sent forth the food that people ate everyday
