Analysis of Survival
Two rats in a race
Vying for first place;
They're off at the gun.
Look at them run!
Dusting up the track
What do they lack?
Neck and neck they go
Until one begins to slow;
His stamina wanes
But the other remains
Running swiftly for the cheese
He wants so much to seize.
Alas! He falls dead
Pushing so hard to get ahead –
Very near to the prize,
He meets his demise
And the other slow poke
Becomes the lucky ‘bloke'
