Analysis of Step by Step

Walking down the memory lane
So much I cannot Explain
All the let downs and the pain
Forever etched upon my brain
Attack of the memories
Memories attack
I say it's alright
Let them attack
As long as I fight
I'm fighting back
Digging through the mountain of regret
Trying to overcome what life beset
Have to get to the other side
To a new life, start a new ride
I'm getting closer
Step by Step
This will be over
Step by Step
But then I FALL
I FALL
One wrong step
Trips the wire
Mountain falls on me
Crushing my desire
To be free of this ALL
When I FALL
Trapped in a hole
Reign of the night
I don't want to see the light
Here I can't even stand TALL
I CRAWL
I can only CRAWL
I fall
I crawl
Lose myself in this all
Until the intoxication
of PAIN
Loses its edge and starts to
look VAIN
And I start digging again
Step by Step
Maybe next time I'll get there
Step by Step
