Analysis of Starting Over
Waiting, wondering,
Where could you be?
Then comes the panic
'Cause you mean so much to me.
The day turns to night,
And still nothing I hear
My heart races, chest tightens,
He doesn't love me, I fear.
Then comes a call,
It's you with some new excuse,
Worked late, car broke,
I can't take the emotional abuse.
You tell me you love me,
And we'll spend our life together
But then you're gone again,
I'm alone, I should have know better.
But this time is different,
I'm stronger, independent and wise.
When you come back again, saying I love you,
I will know it is nothing but lies.
My love, my feeling, my devotion,
All ran so deep.
But you ruined all that,
And the pain, you can keep
The sadness, the hurt,
The lies are all done.
It's time for this pretty girl
To go have some fun.
That's right-
I'm Done!
