Analysis of Smile
Its like a slice of bread without the spread,
Its like a pudding but without the sauce
Or like a mattress that's without a bed
And like a carriage ride without a hoss;
Its like a cabinet without a latch
Or like a woman lacking any grace
And like pipe without a single match,
Is anybody with a smileless face.
Its like a room without a windowpane,
Its like a sonnet with no beat nor rhyme
Or like a summer day without a rain
And like a clock that never tells the time;
Oh yes, the saddest sight that's ever been
Is face without a smile or little grin!
The face of everyone was made for smiles
And so thereby, therewith they're fully blest
Above all mammals, fishes, and reptiles,
The insects, birds, or any of the rest;
A smiling person just a bit below
The blessed angels in the upper skies.
